Mark Schmiel Named Trust President at Bremer Bank
St. Paul, Minn. – August 14, 2007 – Bremer Bank recently announced that Mark Schmiel has been named Trust president for Bremer Bank. In this role, he will manage Bremer's Trust division, overseeing approximately 60 employees across the Bremer footprint in MN, ND and WI. He is based in Bremer's headquarters in St. Paul.
Schmiel has more than 22 years of financial services experience. He joined Bremer in 2005 as investment manager and trust director. Before joining Bremer, Schmiel worked at U.S. Bank as a senior vice president in institutional trust managing the Central U.S. Region.

Mark and his team will provide customized service to clients and help us to continue to grow our trust business.”
Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Schmiel spent 14 years at Pensions Solutions Inc./MSI Insurance in Arden Hills, Minn., most recently as a vice president and general manager overseeing strategic planning, sales, operations, product development, P&L and managed relationships with trust and other service providers.

Schmiel has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Minnesota. He also holds the chartered financial consultant and chartered life underwriter designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Penn.
