Internal Bremer Bank Campaign Raises $35,372 for United Way St. Paul, Minn. - February 4, 2009 - Bremer Bank, a regional financial services company jointly-owned by its employees and the Otto Bremer Foundation, recently completed an internal challenge campaign with its employees; raising $35,372 for United Way offices in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. The program, titled Swipe 5, challenged employees to use Bremer check cards at least five times each month between September and December 2008, donating 0.5 percent of each dollar transacted to United Way. "This was a phenomenal effort by our employees to raise funds for United Way," said Stan Dardis, chief executive officer of Bremer Financial Corporation. "The campaign was designed to demonstrate how easy it is to use Bremer check cards and increased card usage was clearly motivated by Bremer’s commitment to make an donation to a nonprofit that will truly make an impact in our local community.
