Bremer Names Kevin Strege to Lead New Bismarck Bank
Bismarck, N.D. - November 8, 2010 - Kevin Strege, a long-time resident of the Bismarck-Mandan area, has been named to lead the soon-to-be Bremer Bank in Bismarck, N.D. Strege has more than 20 years of banking experience in Western North Dakota.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Kevin joining us to lead Bremer’s expansion into Bismarck,” said Brian Hagen, president of Bremer Bank Fargo. “He’s been working and serving the community in the Bismarck area for more than 20 years and has a true passion and commitment to supporting business growth with financial and banking solutions. Kevin also shares Bremer’s vision in building healthy communities through partnerships with his dedication to the community through his volunteer and board service efforts.”
Strege started his career as a teller at First Bank and quickly moved into commercial lending. After about seven years, he went to work at Wells Fargo as a vice president in business banking in Bismarck. Strege was promoted in 2000 to business banking manager at Wells Fargo and then to principal business relationship manager in 2008. In this position, he managed a portfolio of the market’s largest, most complex clients.
“Bremer has an outstanding track record in North Dakota of providing excellent banking services alongside a strong commitment to the community,” said Strege. ”I’m thrilled to have this opportunity and accept the challenge of bringing the Bremer story to Bismarck and the surrounding areas.” Bremer expects to staff the new location with a mix of talent – tapping existing Bremer employees eager to grow the Bremer culture in a new market, and combining it with the knowledge and experience of local talent.
Construction is underway at the site of the new bank in Bismarck at 710 S. Washington St. When completed, the new bank will offer 6,800 square feet and will include multiple drive-up lanes, including a drive-up ATM, as well as safe deposit boxes in the branch. The new bank will employ 15-20 people and offer a full-range of retail, ag and business banking, mortgage, investments and insurance products and services. The branch is expected to be open for business early spring 2011.
