Schmiel Named President of Bremer Insurance
St. Paul, Minn. – September 8, 2011 - Bremer announces that Mark Schmiel has been named president of Bremer Insurance, part of the company’s financial services division. Schmiel, who has been serving as the interim president of Bremer Insurance for the past few months, will continue in his role as the president of Bremer’s Investment, Management and Trust (IM&T) group.
“Mark brings extensive leadership in strategic business alignment, sales effectiveness, operational excellence, change management and business results,” explained Greg Hilding, group president at Bremer. “Mark will work with leaders and team members throughout Bremer Insurance to move the agency forward. He will be working closely with market managers and other senior leaders in the banks to integrate insurance solutions on behalf of our Bremer clients.”
Schmiel joined Bremer six years ago and has 30 years of financial services experience, having previously held key positions at US Bank, MSI Insurance, American Express and Aetna Property and Casualty. Schmiel has earned ChFC, and CLU designations.
