January 8, 2016 - Bremer Bank is pleased to announce the winners of the Lights, Camera, Save! video contest. One student was selected in each of the three states where Bremer does business and received $500 in prize money. The winners are:
Minnesota: Cory Williamson from Willmar, Minn. for his video, Interest and Perspective.
North Dakota: Cedar Anderson from Carrington, N.D. for her video, Cash Queen.
Wisconsin: Claire Karr from Washburn, Wis. for her video, The Most Thrifty Man on Earth.
The three students will now represent Bremer on the national level for a scholarship of up to $5,000, plus an opportunity for a teacher at their school to attend the 2016 Jump$tart National Educator Conference in Washington.
Sponsored by the American Bankers Association Foundation, Lights, Camera, Save! is a national, bank-driven competition that encourages teens to use video to communicate the value of saving, as well as to inspire others to become lifelong savers. Students from the ages of 13 to 18 are eligible to enter the contest by producing and submitting 90-second videos, which are then judged on their quality, message and appeal to other teens.
"Lights, Camera, Save! is an opportunity for teens to harness their creativity, learn about using money wisely and communicate those lessons to their peers," said Kimi Martin, Bremer’s chief marketing and communications officer. "We understand the importance of financial education and are thrilled to participate in a contest that encourages our local students to develop smart saving habits. Congratulations to Cory, Cedar and Claire from all of us at Bremer Bank!”
