Paul began his financial services career in 1983, working in a variety of business and agriculture banking roles at Norwest and Wells Fargo banks. He joined Bremer Bank in 2005, serving commercial customers in the Saint Cloud, Minnesota area.

Paul holds a B.S. in Economics from University of Minnesota, and he is a national Board Member of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. Paul also volunteers with Paramount Center for the Arts, Central Minnesota Community Foundation and St. Cloud Area Sertoma.
