Some merchants pre-authorize transactions at higher or lower amounts to test a card's validity. For example, a $25.00 gas purchase might temporarily show in your account transaction history as a pending purchase of $126. Pre-authorizations are common at gas pumps, hotels and car rental companies. The actual amount withdrawn from your account will be the correct amount, and the pending transaction will disappear.
Follow the steps included with your new debit card. If you have lost the mailer, contact Bremer Phone Bank at 800-908-2265 for assistance.
When activating your new debit card, you'll be prompted to create a unique Personal Identification Number (PIN). Be sure to choose a secure PIN, and avoid easy-to-guess numbers like your birthday or street address.

There are two places to set card controls: 1) Bremer mobile app or 2) SecurLOCK Equip standalone app.
Enroll in online banking if you have not already done so and then download the Bremer mobile app from your app store.
- Open the Bremer mobile app and select More.
- A list of options will appear, select Card Controls to establish debit card parameters or select Alerts to set debit card alerts once card controls have been enabled.
- Bremer Platinum, World and HSA debit cards will automatically appear showing the last 4 digits of the card. Choose the card you want to set card controls or alerts.

SecurLOCK Equip is a free app that can be downloaded to an Android or Apple device, providing you a simple and secure way to manage and monitor your debit card. The SecurLOCK Equip app offers these features:
- On/Off Feature: Instantly turn a card off to protect it when not in use, in response to suspicious activity or for any other reason. Then turn it back on whenever desired.
- Customized Controls: Set up custom controls to make your card work in specific ways based on the channel (online, in-store, or ATM) and merchant type. You can also limit where your debit card can be used by geographic location and set transaction limits.
- Real-time Monitoring: Track your debit card activity as it occurs with automatic, customized alerts to your designated device.
- Transaction History: Easily view up to 50 transactions in the last 30 days for all debit cards enrolled in the app. Summary information includes the merchant name, transaction amount and other details, such as any ATM fees or surcharges.
First, make sure you have a supported mobile device as described in App Store or Google Play.
Then download the SecurLOCK Equip app from App Store or Google Play. Once installed, launch or open the app (you may first need to unlock it by authenticating your ID) and register as a new user by selecting Sign Up Free. Be sure to also allow the app to send you notifications. You will then follow simple steps to enter your Bremer debit card number and details.
You can begin using the SecurLOCK Equip service immediately after you register. By turning the card off, the green button in the top right corner of the card image will turn red. This means that all transactions (except for recurring payments) will be declined. When ready to make a purchase simply turn the card back on so it is green again. The app works in real-time, so all settings take effect immediately.
Set up alerts to monitor card activity and view your transaction history. Then start selectively setting controls by channel (in-store, online, mobile, or ATM), merchant category, geographic location for where the card can be used, and spend limits.
The SecurLOCK Equip app is only available for cards through participating financial institutions. You may add any Bremer debit card - Platinum, Business, World and HSA - to the card controls available in SecurLOCK Equip.
If you wish to remove a card from the card controls, simply open the app and select Manage Portfolio. Uncheck the card or cards you no longer wish to manage using SecurLOCK Equip.
Yes. Joint account holders can register the same card number on separate devices. Your card settings will be based on the last individual to update the settings.

We are proud to offer several digital wallet capabilities on our debit and credit cards, including Google Pay. Your step-by-step instructions may vary by device, but in general you:
- Install the Google Pay app from Google Play. Check your device to see if Google Pay was pre-installed on it, otherwise download the Google Pay app from Google Play.
- Add your credit or debit card from Bremer Bank. You should have some easy on-screen instructions to help with this step.
If your device is lost or stolen, use Android Device Manager to instantly lock your phone from anywhere, secure it with a new password, or wipe it clean of personal data.

If you lose your mobile device, you will want to take steps to protect your private information.
If you use Mobile Banking, remove it from your online banking profile. Simply log in to online banking from a desktop web browser. Then go to the Customer Service menu to Manage mobile banking settings. Also call Bremer Phone Bank at 800-908-2265 to report the lost or stolen device.
If you use Android Pay, use the Android Device Manager to instantly lock your phone, secure it with a new password or wipe it clean of personal data.
If you use Apple Pay, use iCloud to suspend or permanently remove the Apple Pay capability from the device. Your cards will be suspended or removed from Apple Pay even if your device is offline or not connected to cellular or Wi-Fi networks.
