Josh Howard is the Chief Investment Officer and Director of Wealth at Bremer Bank. He leads both Bremer’s investment team and wealth advisory teams, overseeing the development, management, delivery and communication of investment strategies and model portfolios that meet the needs of Bremer Wealth clients.

Josh has more than 20 years of financial services experience, and spent seven years at the Royal Bank of Canada in a variety of investment leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Director of Global Risk Management for RBC Global Asset Management, where he managed all areas of investment risk oversight, covering equities, fixed income and alternatives as well as was responsible for derivatives risk management, liquidity risk management and fair valuation for the U.S. business. Prior to his tenure at RBC, Josh worked in roles with responsibility for quantitative asset management, asset allocation, product development and investment consulting.

Josh earned his BA in Math and Economics at Northwestern University, an EdM in Math Education at Harvard University and an MBA in Finance at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He is a CFA charterholder and currently serves as a CFA Institute President’s Council Representative for the 12 Midwestern U.S. CFA Societies.

Originally from Battle Creek, Michigan, Josh has lived in Minnesota since 1998. He currently resides in Edina with his wife and two children and enjoys running, biking and golfing with his family.
