Online Security

Bremer Online Banking is as safe as banking in a branch and more secure than writing checks. Our top priority online is the security of your personal and account information. We employ multiple security measures that work together to create a safe environment for your financial information.

User Identification and Password
Security starts at your computer. Never share your Access ID or Password with anyone. Make sure your Password is difficult to guess by combining random numbers and letters, instead of using your birth date, pet’s name or other obvious clues. Bremer requires your Password to be a minimum of eight characters, and it must include at least one capital letter, one lowercase letter and one number. Special characters such as %, ?, or # are not allowed.

Automatic Log Out
You should log out of Bremer Online Banking after each banking session, but if you forget, we’ll do it for you automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Secure Sockets Layer Encryption
This technology scrambles data as it travels between your computer and Bremer, making it virtually impossible for anyone to access your account information. Secure sockets Layer (SSL) is the most trusted method of securing Internet transactions available today. You can verify that you have a secured connection by noting browser security indicators, including the small "lock" icon in the bottom right corner of the browser frame and a Web address that includes the “s” for “secure” (e.g., https://ob.bremer.com/)

Bremer Secure Access
In addition to your personal password security, Bremer has added an extra layer of security with Bremer Secure Access. Bremer strengthens the safeguards in place at login by adding steps to verify your identity. Although these security enhancements benefit you and your security, your day-to-day experience will change very little. We will ask you to set up Bremer Secure Access questions during enrollment and may ask you to answer them as extra verification of your identity when you log in. Simply answer the questions and continue to login to your accounts.
